Glossybox ~ September

  • Posted on September 29, 2012 at 4:30 AM

This is my third GLOSSYBOX and I’m still loving them! Everything I’ve tried so far I’ve loved, even if I had reservations about the product. Before I explode, let’s look in this month’s box! 🙂

September’s box is dubbed “Fall Forward” Here is what my card reads:

“From the fall fashion runways to the season’s latest beauty trends, GLOSSYBOX offers a forward look into new products, formulas, technologies and colors of the season. This month we celebrate beauty’s breakthrough products and offer a mixed set of forward thinking essentials”

Now here’s what’s inside…

GKHAIR ~ (stands for Global Keratin)

Moisturizing Shampoo/Conditioner. Contains Juvexin. Yeah I’m going to have to Google that one. The shampoo nourishes with plant extracts, smooths, purifies and moisturizes the scalp and hair.  The conditioner smooths, revitalizes an leaves hair radiant. So sayith the card. It smells clean, almost, but not quite, like baby powder.

Full-sized 10.0 oz retails for $20 each.

KOH GEN DO ~ Cleansing Spa Water

Made with mineral-rich Japanese hot spring water. It’s infused with six essential herbs (Rosemary leaf, Lavender extract, Sage leaf extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf extract and Ginger root extract) to protect and nurture the skin. It’s supposed to gently remove makeup and your skins toughest impurities.

Those herbs don’t seem appealing to me so I had to break the seal and sniff it right away. (not currently at home) I am happy to report it doesn’t have much of a smell! YAY

The bottle is 3.38 oz and it’s actually a “full-sized” bottle. Retails for $13. NOT BAD!

KRYOLAN for GLOSSYBOX ~ Moisture Rich Lipstick in GLOSSY Pink

Long lasting lipstick enriched with Vitamin E to stimulate and hydrate lips. “The perfect pop of GLOSSY pink compliments all skin tones and lifestyles.”  It actually looks OK on  me. It just looks like I have some color to my usually bare lips. If I remember, when I get home I’ll take a picture. For now you’ll just see the tube. BTW it’s darker than shown.

Retails for $14.

MISSHA ~ M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42

Hailing from Korea, this Blemish Balm, also known as the uber popular “BB Cream” is a multi-tasking powerhouse for the face. It provides light coverage, soothes, protects and moisturizes. Suitable for all skin types.  We’ll have to see. I have sensitive skin and all of the BB creams I’ve tried up until know have made me break out like a pizza-faced teen. 🙁

I’m not too happy about the smell. (I’m big on scents, if you haven’t noticed.) The texture is like other balms and the coverage is the same. It blended nicely though. I’ll just have to wait and see if I break out.

Retails for $29.99

Once again I’m super happy with my GLOSSYBOX and can’t wait until next month! To get yours go to www.GLOSSYBOX.com. $21 for a Monthly Subscription

Disclosure:

I bought this box on my own.  All opinions expressed about the products and company are my own as well.

GlossyBox July 2012

  • Posted on August 4, 2012 at 2:53 AM

I’m just a little confused… I got my first GlossyBox TODAY 8/3/12, but it’s for “July”. I’m wondering if I’ll get August in September? As long as I get a box a month I wont complain. If the rest of the boxes are like this one I’ll be overjoyed!

This sounds silly, but I felt special opening this box. It’s very luxe and gave me the feeling of opening an expensive gift. To further my excitement I found the contents wrapped inside dark brown tissue held together with a sticker and a pink ribbon tied around it. Right under the ribbon was a glossy card with a list and explanation of the contents. This GlossyBox has a theme “Summer Nights”.  I was too excited to read the rest. I tossed it aside and dug into my box!

Here is what I found. Oops! I forgot to add that on top of the box was a copy of Glossy Mag. I’ll read it later. 🙂

Pedix Heel Rescue Balm by Alessandro International ~ (Imported from Germany) Even at 1.01 oz the tube is pretty good sized for being a sample. I tried a little on my hand and though it felt soft the smell was horrible. It reminded me of Kaopectate. I’m not big on pepperminty smells. A full size bottle sells for $18.50

OFRA Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow pencil ~ I don’t use brow pencils, but I might give this one a try. Full size (this one is) sells for $10

Almond & Aloe Hand & Body Emulsion by Caswell-Massey ~ I don’t want to tear this open yet, but I’m dying to. I LOVE almond scented anything! This is a tad bit premature, but if it’s anything like other almond creams I’ve tried, I wont hesitate to buy it. The full-sized price of $24 doesn’t scare me. LOL Oh and the fact that it’s paraben-free and not tested on animals… Yup, I’ll probably buy it.

Sebastian Color Ignite Multi Tone Shampoo & Conditioner ~ Full shampoo is $14.95 and the conditioner is $16.95. Doesn’t smell too bad. I’ll have to see how well it works though. One thing that has me super curious to try it is, the conditioner looks like it has a foam applicator.

Senna Cosmetics Double Dose Lip Lacquer ~ Chocolate Cherry ~ YUM Will try this before work tomorrow. I’m glad it’s full-sized, the color is something I’d wear. We’ll see how well it looks on me though. Sells for $22.00

Loving my box and I feel it’s worth the $21. Can’t wait to see what August brings!

July Bulu Box Review

  • Posted on August 1, 2012 at 11:00 PM

I got my first Bulu Box* a few days ago. I would have posted sooner but I’m too preoccupied packing for our trip. 🙂 So before I get my August box I thought I better share July’s box. I have tried only one of these products, the Coromega, as for the rest, I’ll update when I do.

The Cost: $10 a month (Use coupon code woohoo10 for your first month FREE!) The Products: Samples including vitamins, supplements, sports nutrition, meal replacement, diet, energy, protein, detox, digestion, sexual health, herbs, natural remedies, endurance and more.

July Bulu Box

From Bulu Box: “With refreshing effervescent delivery, your body will absorb 98% of the nutrients in Ola Loa. Stir into water or juice!”

Coromega Omega3+D Squeeze ~ Value $1 Total

From Bulu Box: “Omega-3 and Vitamin D help ensure the health of your heart. Eat one yummy packet alone or squeeze it onto your favorite snack.” Adios fishy burps.

I’ve actually tried these and I don’t mind the taste at all. It reminds me of an orange dreamcicle ice cream. They are convenient to tote around too. It’s also true about the fishy burps. NONE 🙂

Detour Lower Sugar Whey Protein Bar (Caramel Peanut) – Value $2.30

From Bulu Box: “With up to 83% less sugar, this bar delivers all of the body-shaping nutrition of the original but with amazingly low levels of sugar.”

There is also a code for 25% off and online order from DetourBar.com. The code is DET25. It expires the end of this month, but with the code you can get these as cheap as $1.04! That is a steal for any nutrition bar.

Green Tea Hawaii Packets – (4) Value Approx $5 total

From Bulu Box: “When stired into water, Green Tea Hawaii gives you the full benefits of 70 regular cups of green tea in 2 packets.”

All in all I’m happy with my first Bulu Box. It got well over $10 worth of product and I’m genuinely interested in trying each one.
